Thomas Carper


Thomas Carper lives with his wife Janet in Cornish, Maine. A former professor at the University of Southern Maine, he has published three books of metrical poetry, Fiddle Lane, From Nature, and Distant Blue, which won the Richard Wilbur Award. His poems have appeared in several venues, some of which are Poetry, American Scholar, and The Review, based in London. With Derek Attridge, Carper co-authored Meter and Meaning: An Introduction to Rhythm in Poetry.
