The Couch Jam: Week 2

Emery Community Arts Center is pleased to announce our next launch of the Couch Jam Online Concert Series! Emery’s online concert series showcases Farmington’s local music scene. During the month of July, weekly performances recorded in the homes of local musicians are brought straight to you through our website. Our second double-feature show goes “live” on Friday, July 17th, presenting Kait Frost and The Taylor Twins.

Kait Frost is an experimental musician and artist from Farmington. Her style takes dark, dreamy vocals from lo-fi pop and gritty guitar riffs from rock and transposes it all over a range of frantic electronic glitch-hop beats. She has recently started performing live and has released two albums and is currently finishing a third.

The Taylor Twins are Samantha and Sara Taylor. Samantha Taylor, a senior at UMF, is double-majoring in both Visual Arts and Music. Samantha has been writing original songs since 2015 and performs often at UMF. She had several shows performing alone until Sara Taylor, her identical twin, moved to Farmington. Sara is also a senior at UMF and is majoring in Interactive Media with a concentration in Visual Arts. Sara is a singer and plays many instruments, but her specialty is for the flute. The Taylor Twins’ sound is inspired by alternative-pop and alternative-rock music, and you can expect to hear themes of resilience, mental health, strength, and love in their performance.

While our UMF campus arts venue remains closed, Emery Community Arts Center strives to continue its role as a space to honor, exhibit, and support the artistic and creative force in our local community and beyond. We look forward to launching new exhibitions and arts programming online through our website and social media.

Our previous show featured Brian Richmond and Tumbledown. Listen to their performance here.
