Spotlight on 2020 IT Staff Award Recipients

Congratulations to Todd Berry, recipient of this year’s CIO Award! This award is presented to an individual who’s contribution to delivering IT services has been above and beyond. Todd is the Manager of Web and Data Solutions, has been with IT for over 13 years, and has assumed significant new responsibilities over the past year. By “proactively engaging and collaborating with other units, both internal and external to US:IT, Todd consistently derives strategies and solutions well suited to fulfill the critical, sensitive, and time-constrained needs of the University of Maine System.”

The Extra Mile Award was presented to Zora Merrill this year. Zora joined the IT Support Services team at USM in October 2019, and has “impressed many customers with her efficiency and friendly manner.” Many of you may have had the pleasure of “chatting” with her over the last several months. She has “exemplified high quality customer service, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and advocating for innovative solutions to best meet customer needs.” Please join us in congratulating Zora!

The Team Award represents superior performance by a group or cross-functional team demonstrated by achievement of goals through collaboration. The award recognizes outstanding teamwork within a group or team and promotes the spirit of teamwork within US:IT. This year’s recipient is the IT Support/Help Desk Teams. “Throughout the University’s pandemic response, the technical support provided by our front line staff to the community has been praised and recognized across the system.” Thank-you and congratulations to the IT Support/Help Desk Teams!
