US:IT  2022 VIRTUAL SUMMIT

IT Teams engaged in a Virtual Summit for two hours each day on June 14, 15, and 16. Chancellor Malloy was the keynote speaker and spoke on UMS Strategic Planning & Unified Accreditation. Jeff St. John, Associate Vice Chancellor for Accreditation and Strategic Initiatives provided an overview of the Unified Catalog Initiative. Laurie Fox, Director of Educational Technology, SUNYGeneseo, shared insight and strategies on Team Building for Improved Morale & Productivity. IT Teams were also introduced to the new TeamDynamix Incident, Request, and Problem Management System.

IT teams participated in meaningful discussions around work success stories and challenges from the viewpoint of fully remote, hybrid, on-site, and flexible work schedules, including tips for finding a successful balance.

Longevity awards were presented for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 40, and 45 years of service. Congratulations to all recipients and a special shout out to Michael Murphy, Windows Systems Administrator, IT Enterprise Systems Applications & Administration, for an amazing 40 years of service, and Timothy Hupp, Video Production Specialist, IT Support Services, UMF, for a spectacular 45 years of service!

Congratulations to this year’s 2022 Nominees for the CIO Award, Extra Mile Award, and Team Impact Award! This year’s CIO Award recipient is Christina Stephens, Student Administrative Systems SME, Service Delivery and Support, UMS. Christina has been recognized as someone whose contributions to the delivery of IT services have been above and beyond! The Extra Mile Award went to Jeremiah (Zak) Gould, Media Services Manager, IT Support Services, USM. Zak has been recognized as someone who goes the extra mile to provide high-quality service delivery! The final Team Impact Award goes to our HighPoint Team for a) superior performance by a cross-functional team demonstrated by the achievement of goals through collaboration and b) recognizing outstanding teamwork within a team and promotes the spirit of teamwork within IT!
