Painting Off the Wall
Flex Space Gallery
November 7th to December 12th
Reception December 6th 5:00-8:00PM.
Please stop by and talk to student artists as they work on their installation pieces in the Emery Flex Space. Students from Kate Randall’s Painting Off the Wall class have installed finished work and will commence the installation of new work on Wednesdays from 1:15PM to 6:00PM from November 7th to December 12th.
If you can’t make it on Wednesdays, please stop by the Flex Space and view the work in progress during regular gallery hours. Students are excited to have this opportunity to engage in a creative and meaningful dialogue with the UMF and greater Farmington community.
These students are investigating the expanded field of painting. Inspired by artists like Robert Rauschenberg, Jessica Stockholder, and Sara Sze, students are engaged in experiments with painting as a form of sculpture and installation, focusing on the formal elements of color, line, form, pictorial space, and physical space.
There will be a closing reception on December 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with refreshments.
